History: Rio Magdalena was designed by Ellicott Dredges. The hull was built by them in Barranquilla. It was specifically designed for the maintenance of the Magdalena River, following guidelines set by a Dutch technical mission. It was built to be operated, both as a cutter and a dustpan. She has carried out multiple maintenance campaigns on the “Canal del Dique” as well as dredging projects along the Magdalena River, including hydraulics fills and other projects.
